Covid-19 Update

Jim “Basketball” Jones is offering both in-person and virtual assemblies this school year.

In Person Assembly and Virtual Questions and answers:

  • Can you wear a mask? Yes! - Jim has been wearing a mask during his performances and it does not interfere with his microphone.

  • Can you perform outside? Absolutely. - Jim has performed many times outside throughout his career. Outside performances can be done in a shaded area and more importantly in the grass. Blacktop can get pretty hot and all of Jim’s amazing tricks can be done in the grass. ***Have students and teachers bring their own “fun and wacky” beach towel to sit on. Its fun for the kids and it will help with keeping social distancing.

  • Can you do small classroom visits? Yes! - We are calling it “Assembly on a Cart!” Jim can do small classroom visits where he can share stories, perform tricks, and introduce his friend, “Yeti”, from his new children’s book - “Bouncy and the Power of Yet”.

  • Can we keep students spaced a part? Yes! - Kids can sit spaced a part (beach-towel can help) on the floor as much as needed. Jim has modified his assemblies to help improve spacing for volunteers.

  • Are you offering virtual assemblies? Yes! - We had great success last year with Jim’s virtual assemblies and We Are One Team Video Series and schools have already begun requesting them again for this year. Also note that every assembly offered can be done virtually.
